Annibelle Collette Boling

A new baby girl is exactly what the world needed last Wednesday at 3:31:14 PM.

She is beautiful, and Mindee and I get to keep her! She was born at Clarian North, and we think she weighed about 6lbs, 4oz. The scales in the delivery room were way off, the numbers they gave us are impossibly unreliable (5lbs, 13oz). Their measuring stick worked a bit better though, and we're pretty sure that she was 19 inches long.

She has a congenital heart disease called tetralogy of fallot, and will need open heart surgery when she is about one year old. After the surgery she will be able to live a mostly normal life, for which we are very grateful!

Being a parent is very tiring!

Why do you think the scale they have there is way off? Does she just not feel that light and tiny? She looks tiny either way. I can't wait to meet Annibelle, and I agree that she is just what the world needed! :)

The scale was off because when they weighed her on it it said 5lbs 10oz and then when they weighed her the next day she was 6 lbs. And babies lose weight after they are born. They don't gain unless they have some condition that causes them to gain. And heart disease makes it even harder for a baby to gain weight. So Her next day birth weight makes us think that when she was born she really weighed about 6lbs 4oz. :)

She is very cute and cuddly!
